About HSOC
The Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor is an area southwest
of St. Louis, Missouri deemed valuable for its
aesthetic, economic and natural assets. Anchored
on the east by Missouri Department of Conservation's
Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center and on
the west by Missouri Botanical Garden's Shaw Nature
Reserve, the Corridor comprises 24 miles of Interstate
Highway 44, 40 miles of the Meramec River Greenway,
and seven communities within three counties.

This wonderful aerial photograph of the Corridor
appears on the cover of our Management
Plan. It is a view of I-44 looking west over
Lone Elk Park and the Forest 44 Conservation Area
west of Valley Park, MO. HSOC use of this image
