Civic Initiatives: Our Programs and Projects

The HSOC Foundation is committed to a slate of Programs and Projects to promote the interests and value of the Corridor:

Summit for Adopt-A-Highway Groups
Need: To energize the existing I-44 Corridor Adopt-A-Highway Groups.
Benefit: Will promote the health and safety of the traveling public and will entice motorists to stop and support businesses and communities along the Corridor.
Format: One-day program open to the public.

Plants and Design for I-44
Need: To recognize and understand that healthy and fit landscapes along I-44 contribute positively to healthy and fit communities.
Benefit: Proper plants and design will serve "traffic calming" strategies and will contribute to communities where people will want to live, work and play.
Format: Design, development, implementation and maintenance of projects which strike a balance between our natural heritage and our contemporary community needs; open to the public.

Developers' Forum
Need: Far too often, development occurs at cross-purposes to long-term community value. We need a genuine collaboration that includes neighborhoods, businesses, developers, schools and local governments–collectively–to give us a chance to succeed.
Benefit: Will retain the current prosperity along the Corridor and will acknowledge the value of our natural heritage as a community asset that can increase this prosperity.
Format: One-day program open to the public.

These programs and projects respond to needs that now are not being met. They act upon a critical pursuit defined by our shared future.
